During 2022, Clissold Park User Group continued to hold public meetings where park users could raise issues and discuss matters affecting Clissold Park.
Meeting records from the year cover the construction of the new splash pad, plans for the future of the former paddling pool site, drainage works, Clissold House and the café, the Pump House concession, planting and other park maintenance. CPUG also discussed how the group itself should operate and involve more park users.
Splash pad and former paddling pool
Construction of the new splash pad and the future of the former paddling pool site were discussed during the year.
In January, the meeting was told that the tender process for the splash pad was under way. CPUG officers planned to attend the Park Development Board to find out more and report back to a future meeting.
The records also refer to plans for a further consultation about the future use of the former paddling pool site once the available budget was known.
Drainage and paths
Sustainable drainage works were discussed during 2022.
The January meeting was told that data and measurements were being collected at the lower end of the park and that Hackney Council planned to appoint a design company to address drainage and flooding of footpaths.
Path repairs and other maintenance work were also covered in meeting updates.
Clissold House and the café
Clissold House and café operations were discussed during the year.
Meeting records included updates about the management and operation of the café and Clissold House.
Planting around Clissold House was also discussed.
Pump House
The Pump House and its concession were among the subjects discussed at CPUG meetings during the year.
Updates about its use and operation were provided through the meeting records.
How CPUG works
CPUG also spent time during 2022 discussing the operation and future of the group itself.
Subjects included CPUG’s constitution and structure, public engagement and ways to encourage more people to attend meetings and take on representative roles.
Online participation
In January, three park users took part in a CPUG meeting online.
The meeting record states that this was the first time online participation had been provided and that the arrangement would be repeated for some future meetings.

This page provides a summary of activities and issues recorded in CPUG’s meeting documents and other group records from 2022. It is not intended to be a complete record of everything that happened in Clissold Park during the year.
Where an issue was discussed by CPUG but an activity or outcome was the responsibility of Hackney Council or another organisation, it is described as a subject of discussion rather than as work carried out by CPUG.
